1 Conference Background
Health is a basic proposition of human settlements. Healthy life is a fundamental goal of human development. Healthy buildings and healthy cities are the strategic needs of the 13th Five-Year Plan for National Economic and Social Development of the CPC Central Committee to promote the construction of "Healthy China". They are also the specific objectives of the "Healthy China 2030 Program" guided by the CPC Central Committee and the State Council. They are also the future important development direction of architectural scientific research and application inChina.
The study of healthy human settlements meets the needs of social transformation, industrial transformation and discipline development. It introduces public health, life sciences, materials science, psychology and other disciplines into the study of architectural environment, and promotes the transformation of architectural technology to solve new environmental problems. It makes architectural design, urban and rural planning and other disciplines methodological, and cross-cooperation among them will help to open up new research fields and solve related application problems more effectively. It is not only the new need of engineering education, but also the frontiers of research in the future.
The conference is part of the Place Making Week held in Wuhan by UN-Habitat in conjunction with the Wuhan Municipal People's Government and is one of the four sub-forums under the theme of "Building a Better Public Space" during the event week. The conference not only invited scholars who have made achievements in various fields of healthy human settlements environment research to give speeches, but also carried out a nationwide paper collection. And we sincerely invite academics and industry colleagues to participate in the conference.
2 Conference Theme
▌Topics
Trans-disciplinary Research and Practice of Health and Environment in Human Settlements
▌Sub-issues
(1) Culture and Health
【Key words】climate, phenology and time, clothing, food and shelter, habitation, and institutional concept.
【Theme Introduction】With the development of society, especially the rapid acceleration of urbanization in China, the influence of non-material factors such as living form, mode of production, lifestyle and values on health becomes more and more obvious. The concepts of time, space and environment of different nationalities can reflect the understanding and wisdom of health problems. Healthy human settlement not only pays attention to the study of the physical environment of healthy human settlement, but also combines the comfort index such as sound, light, heat and humidity of buildings with the health index, and also involves the study of the relationship between architectural space and physical and mental health. When we build a healthy building environment, it is necessary to promote a healthy lifestyle, which is also a prerequisite for the whole nation to achieve healthyChina.
(2) Basic Theories Research
【Key words】Environmental comfort and health quality, environmental behavior and mental health, environmental (micro) biological characteristics, new health materials.
【Theme Introduction】In the 1990s, the World Health Organization put forward the concept of "healthy building" and 15 standards for healthy housing. "Healthy residence" refers to the residences which can make the occupant in a good state physically, spiritually and socially. Besides harmless building materials, it should also promote the occupant's health, comfort and work efficiency in the whole life cycle. Relevant basic theoretical research includes the research, simulation, analysis and optimization of the performance indicators of healthy human settlements, the improvement of sunshine, ventilation, radiation, purification, greening, intelligent management and other indicators, and the pioneering study of the health attributes of microbial (flora) environment, the relationship between environmental comfort and health quality, and imaging studies on physical and mental health of environmental behavior, and studies on new materials that constitute healthy buildings and public spaces from the perspective of building materials, etc.
(3) Practices for Health in Human Settlements
【Key words】Healthy housing, healthy settlements, healthy villages, healthy towns, healthy cities and planning
【Theme Introduction】With the development of urbanization, the high concentration of urban population will inevitably produce a series of social and health problems. WHO (W.H.O) office inEuropeimplements the "Healthy Cities" program which is a practical guide to building healthy cities. The plan sets out a number of health indicators, and clearly sets out a number of missions, guidance and future prospects for healthy urban development, calling on all countries to jointly use science and wisdom to design sustainable cities. On the urban scale, healthy urban design is planned to integrate urban planning, urban design, architectural design, landscape design, environmental science, meteorology and other disciplines. In the process of urban construction, using the characteristics of multi-scale penetration of urban design, starting from different scales of cities, blocks and buildings, the urban communication can be promoted by means of urban master planning, urban land use control, urban spatial structure planning, green space system planning, and building unit control of important nodes. Wind, improvement of urban underlying surface attributes, improvement of the city's "self-purification capacity", improvement of urban climate and urban atmospheric environment and other objectives. In addition, the study of space-behavior closely related to people's lives, especially the study of children's friendliness and ageing suitability in cities and communities, which is carried out on different scales from city to community, is also closely related to the practice of healthy human settlements project. And it can improve people's spatial experience and promote physical and mental health at the same time.
Architecture is an important place for human beings. More than 80% of the time in a day is spent indoors. Architecture is closely related to everyone's life. The health index of built environment is very important for people's high quality and healthy life. A series of problems, such as acousto-optic thermal physical environment, indoor decoration pollution, fog and haze weather, not only hinder the improvement of people's quality of life, but also threaten health and safety. Relevant research results of healthy human settlements can not only help to create a comfortable living environment, but also be widely used in kindergartens, schools, medical buildings, nursing homes and other construction and environmental engineering practices which require high health quality.
(4) Research on Health Industry
【Key words】Pension industry and aging, medical care, health household appliances and indoor environment
【Theme Introduction】Healthy Habitat Environment, a cross-disciplinary study of human settlements and biotechnology, materials science, psychology, medicine, public health and other disciplines, has become a theoretical and technological frontier of emerging scientific research in developed countries. Focus on this issue is a response to the national sustainable development strategy and the "healthy China" construction strategy. It is also of great significance in supporting national construction, improving people's livelihood, urban planning and the innovation and transformation of the construction industry.。
